 Taste Testing

Hola readers,

This week we are taste testing so see how well are taste bud works. We are spending 2 peirods on taste testing one is writing the blog and the other is tasting the foods and adding to the blog.

Aim:

I want to find out how well are tastebuds work.

Research:

The 5 main flavors are:

Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter, Savory

We have bitter tastbud on the back of our tongue and sour tastebuds on the sides of our tongue.

Method:

Equipment:

  • Unknow food
  • Blind fold
  • A taster with a tongue

Instructions:
  1. get equipment
  2. put blind fold on
  3. hold your nose shut
  4. put the food in your mouth and taste
  5. Describe how it taste
  6. Release your nose and descride the taste
Results:

Food#1
it was crunchy and wet and tasted sweet
I think it was apple

food#2
Was round and bitter and i got the flavor stright away
I think it was

food #3
it was wet and it didn't taste like anything but it was crunchy
I think is a potato

food #4
It felt like a lolie and it had sugar and it felt like half of and apple
i think it was a sweet orange lollie

food #5
i felt like it had sugar on it and it felt buppy but it was sour
so i say it was a sour lollie

Powder #1
It looked like sugar
so i say it was sugar

Powder#2
it looked looked powdery and it looked like tablet salt
so I say table salt

powder #3
I looked super powdery so I thought it was icing sugar
But it was baking soda

Powder#4
I looked like malic acid and it was

powder#5
I didn't really know what it was
it was a mix of all the powders that we had

Conclusion:

Our Teacher said that the last one was all the powders mixed together and that the baking soda and the malic acid where mixing together and made a bad version of sherdit and it foamed up in our mouth.

I have better taste when im not blocking my nose but i can still taste the main flavors even tho i have my nose blocked.

Discussion:

My bitter tastebuds at the back of my tongue reacted as soon as I swollowed the baking soda to that connects to my past research.

Bye thanks for reading
