Predictions- 

What do I think I know about this disaster? That it is a fire because of the name

What do I think I will find out about this disaster? How and why it started and the people that were invold with the fire.



1. It is one of NZ oldest department store and was one of the most deadliest fire in NZ.
2. Cashel street, Christchurch Central city, 8011,
3. 1947, 18 November at 3:46 pm with 41 deaths.
4. People just thought it was a cellar fire so they didnt worry and when the fire got larger the people up stairs couldn't get down because the fire was on already on the stair.
5. 41 people out of 640 shoppers died some people jumped on to the verandah an d were unconscious.
6. They added fire alarms and fire drills, no Smoking inside.

  • they had 25 minutes before the first flames were seen
  • The resource wasn't usefull because it was to long and we can't really hear it

    The Ballantynes fire looks like a really cool topic to research about and i think that you have shown a great way to put all your work in one blog. Maybe next time read over twice because i saw a couple of errors in your writing.
