Hola Amigos . Me and room 7 have been working on using a picture prompt to do some describe writing

This was our picture

First we did a padlet brainstorm of what we could see.

See:

Bright sun surrounded by the light blue sky. The clouds were making way for the sun to shine through.Blue waves pushing against the current of the sea.The reflection of the sun on the water was so beautiful.

Feel:

When I step on the soft sand it crunches beneath my feet.

Hear:

I could hear the waves crashing into each other

Smell:

I could smell the salty sea water.

Then we have to write our information in paragraphs. I am still working on mine :)

100 word count

100 Word Count

Kia orana guys. Me and my class have been making 100 word long stories. I've been trying to get all of my 100 word count stories from week 2 to week 9 completed. It's really really hard. I'm on to my 4th story I just want to show you how much I have done, but it is hard like I said.

Here is my 100 word count story from week two.  We had to use the 5 words at the top.

SALT   BROWN MELTED   GIRAFFE GREASY

I was going to the zoo with Tiana and Shylah, before we left Tiana made cooked eggs when we ate it, it
was soooo greasy, before we left again i was looking for my metal bracelet i ask tiana and shylah then i
saw it on the oven it was melted and brown, when we finally got to the zoo we went to the cafe there was
salted caramel ice blocks, Tiana and Shylah wanted to see the Giraffe when we got there “where are all
the giraffes?” Tiana said. But there were none there they had all gone.

Our Bug Topic

I don't know what day we started this slide but we started to learn about bugs, we learnt so many facts and just one joke. The first thing we had to do was find a partner to make a slide with, my partner was Talisa . Then after we found a partner we had to make a slide. before we started making the slide Talisa said a joke that was "bee positive". 
When we finished all our writing we were allowed to decorate but Talisa didn't like any backgrounds so I said she could pick. 

If you don't know what pollinators and decomposers are I'll tell you. Pollinators are the work bees because work bees collect the pollen from the flowers and then drop it off at other plants which means they are cross pollinated and can produce fruit. The decomposes are the worms, they eat the dirt and poop out soil. Here is the side me and Talisa made.

winter sport

Winter Sport

Kia orana guys. Every Friday when its winter its winter sport in the afternoon. The sport that I am playing in is netball. My team was Rubies but on the first Friday sport game I had to go in Sapphires since they had three team members away. We had to go to the high school.

I had an advantage because I was versing one of my friends and so of there school. Guess what happened WE WON THE GAME.

Bad luck that can happen is not being allowed to play when you are sick. This happened once i was sick for one week.

Today i'm teaching you how to make a Cartouche. Cartouche is something they used in Egypt it meant they lived in the after life.

How to make a Cartouche

You will need light brown paper, pencil, Hieroglyphic Typewriter and coloured pencils. Take the light brown paper draw a shape like this    , after  you draw the shape get Hieroglyphic Typewriter open then write your name, after you write your name on the Typewriter draw your name in Hieroglyphic on the brown paper, the colour the shapes.

Cross Country

On April the 2nd we had Cross Country, if you don't know what Cross Country it is when we run around Kyle park twice. One thing i have to say is i do not know what place i came. But now some photos of me.

We had to go around Kyle park twice it was so hot but we sill did it. One thing me Talisa and Shylah hated was doing something. We could of done Art work or catch up. Remember don't care what place you come just remember you came a place.

How to Calm Yourself

How to calm yourself 

Hi i'm going to show you how to calm yourself. I have learnt 9 ways to calm down, five finger breathing , dragon breathing, calm music, rainbow breathing, counting, share your feelings, squeezing the lemons, drink, talk about it, eat, all of them are a way to calm your self or a friend. I'll show how to do them all.


Five Finger breathing.

 How to do five finger breathing, put your hand out and go up and down your fingers with another finger, breathing in throw the nose and out throw the mouth.


dragon breathing.

How to do dragon breathing, First I would say don't think that you are setting someones head on fire, so breath throw your nose and out throw your moth.


   Rainbow breathing

rainbow breathing is were sit cross-legged with your hands on you knees. inhale, arch your back and look up. Exhale, round you back and look down. Repeat 8 times, breathing each shade of the rainbow ...red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, pink 

Share your feelings

if your feeling mad at someone you can go talk to someone and talk about your feeling.

Squeezing the lemons

so first you do not smash lemons with a hammer. you squeeze your hands together.

I hope your having a great day. So lets get started me and
my whole class had to write 5 poems. We got to choose out of
Dinosaur, compass, spider, key, man, coin, candle, puzzle piece,
gem, rock and pawn. I was the first person to write a poem
about pawn, but there were two poems that we had to get done
the teddy bear poem and the ship in a bottle poem.   

 

Here are some of my poems.

After we showed our poems we got a cared. on the back of our
cared's we had to write our poems. After we finished our cared
we gave our cared's to our teacher, this is what it looked like
after.

Summer Learning Journey Prize

SLJ Prize

I'm so sorry that I haven't been blogging. But this is not about me this is about Talisa, my friend. So it was lunch time but we had to go to the gym. No one knew what was happening. Then we saw Emma in the gym, our cyber smart teacher. Then we all knew what was happening it was time to give out the SLJ prizes. We all were wondering who had won and Talisa won the highest number of posts for the whole cluster in the SLJ. She got a new chrome book my whole class was happy.
