Descriptive Writing  

Hola readers,

This week we have a descriptive story that you had to write in present tense. We all had really different ideas.  

Writing in present tense is super hard for me. My story was about me being inside of a box and gets lost in the middle of nowhere. 

I woke up inside of the big brown crate in the middle of nowhere, no light and limited oxygen left in the packed cramped crate. I had one item in the crate, a small but useful hammer. I didn’t have another space to swing the hammer so i flipped it around and started to hammer the side of the crate and i made it throw to the other side of the crate 

I hate writing in present tense because I have no ideas for what to write at all.  I still haven't finished my story i have only done one half of my story .

In my class we are learning about surface features, so we have had to check a piece of writing for pieces of punctuation, capitals and spelling. Why are we doing this? so that we are making sure that we rereading and using are surface features after our sentences. On our room 9 writing site our teacher put on a link with a story. In the link that we had to make a copy then fix and add surface features. We first had to read the story once then find the ends of the sentences.  Then we had to write it a second time to find the repeated words in the story.

He kept absolutely still as the footsteps got louder he tried not to suffocate as he laid under the bed he was wondering what had happened to his brother and his family. The man with the knife in his hand stormed around the house. Mums had boyfriends before but we had not thought that they would ever find us maybe he was one of them looking for revenge but why would he come. mum would just move and how did he find us we live on the other side of the planet from where all of mums boyfriends were so how could he find us he might have put a tracker on mum when he last saw her or on one of the devises ‘Hello where are you I know your here you're going to tell me where you're mother is or you shall join your father... in the skies so which will it be death or freedom you have 10 seconds chose wisely’.

Here my fix story

It became super fun to do rewriting and fixing a story. My teacher said that this story is from a year 6 she was with 2 years ago. This story looked good but needed some surface features.

Me and my class have done another blog post of the word of the week. These are so fun now and quicker than ever. This weeks word is Indignant I often feel like this when chatting with friends, but this word means angry, unfair, outraged.

In my sentence I said that {Ellenessa was so Indignant she scream her lungs out.}. I see that I have made a mistake I wrote here instead of her but i'm to lazy to change it.

We ave another weekly word but this one is alienated, alienated is a word that is a sad word it means unloved and excluded.

I have never felt alienated but that's what I think.

Hola readers, 

This term we have been learning our language features we have learned. the language features we have learned are onomatopoeia, personification, hyperbole and metaphors. We had to write a story using all the language features we have learnt. 

It was hard for me because I had so many ideas going trough my head at the time but I picked one idea. after I picked my story started it got easy and fun. I asked my friend if they wanted to be in my story because i used there names.

I have tried to use a metaphor in my story and I think it worked out well "THIS BUILDING IS A SKYSCRAPER".

Hyperboles

This week we have been working on hyperboles which are lies which aren't meant to be taken seriously. I learnt this before in my reading group earlier this year when we were reading 'Here comes the Sun'.

A hyperbole is part of the langauge feature topic that we have been working on this term.

Math

Math Battle ships

Hola readers,

We have just started on geometry for math. Geometry is a math that focuses on shapes and patterns. This week we have been focusing on learning geometry and finding the area of a shape.

We were just meant to find the area but I took the extra step and found the perimeter to each block. I would have to say that the blue was the easiest and the green was the hardest to me .
